Christmas Novena

The traditional St. Andrew Christmas Novena prayed in joyful expectation of the Nativity.

Prayer Text

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ and of his blessed Mother. Amen.

How To Pray This

Although it is called a novena, this devotion is traditionally prayed for twenty-five days as a way of spiritually preparing for the Nativity.

  2. Pray the novena prayer fifteen times each day in a spirit of joyful expectation and trust.
